How supplier bills connect to inventory
Understand how bills, bill lines, suppliers, purchase history, and stock purchase records relate to inventory items.
Inventory can connect with supplier bills so you can see where stock came from and how much it cost. This helps with purchasing, supplier tracking, and stock history.
Recent purchase history from bills
- The inventory item page can show recent supplier bill lines linked to the item.
- It can show the bill link, supplier, bill date, applied status, quantity, unit cost, and line total.
- This helps you remember when the item was bought and from whom.
Linked bill lines
- A linked bill line means a supplier bill has a line connected to this inventory item.
- Linked bill lines help protect old records and explain why some items cannot be permanently deleted.
Applied at
- Applied at shows whether the bill purchase has been applied to stock, depending on your workflow.
- If it says Not applied, the bill line may be linked for purchase history but may not yet have increased current stock.
Supplier details
- Supplier details show the preferred supplier linked to the item.
- If no supplier is linked, Bizwazi may show a prompt to add or link a supplier.
- Supplier linkage helps you reorder stock and review stock by supplier.
Example
- A shop buys Weetabix from Essential Oils Nairobi. The supplier bill line is linked to the Weetabix inventory item. Later, the owner can open Weetabix and see the purchase history from that bill.
