How to check and edit bills

Learn how to review bill details, attachments, categories, and stock links.

How to check and edit bills

After a bill is saved, you should be able to open it again and check the details.

You may need to review a bill when:

  • The supplier amount looks wrong
  • A receipt needs to be checked
  • A category was chosen incorrectly
  • A stock quantity needs checking
  • A PDF invoice needs to be viewed again
  • You are reviewing business expenses

What to check

When reviewing a bill, check:

  • Supplier name
  • Bill date
  • Total amount
  • Payment account
  • Bill items
  • Expense categories
  • Uploaded attachments
  • Stock links, if used

Editing a bill

If editing is allowed, update the incorrect information and save the bill again.

Be careful when editing bills linked to inventory because changing quantities or stock-linked items may affect your stock records.

Deleting a bill

Only delete a bill if it was entered by mistake.

If the bill is linked to stock or reports, deleting it may affect business records.

For accurate bookkeeping, it is often better to correct a bill instead of deleting it.
