Sales

How sales affect the Dashboard, Accounts, Reports and Inventory

Understand how one sale can affect several parts of Bizwazi.

A sale is not only a line in the Sales page. Once saved, it affects other parts of Bizwazi. This is why accurate sales entry is important.

Dashboard

  • Sales increase the sales total for the trading day.
  • Sales affect profit because profit is based on income minus expenses.
  • Sales affect the expected end balance for the account selected.
  • Wrong sales can create or hide discrepancies.

Accounts

  • A Cash sale increases Cash.
  • An M-PESA sale increases M-PESA.
  • A Bank/Card sale increases Bank/Card.
  • If the wrong account is selected, the Accounts page may show money in the wrong place.

Reports

  • Sales appear in daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.
  • Changing old sales can change old reports.
  • Categories and accounts help reports become more useful.

Inventory

  • Manual sales do not reduce stock.
  • Stock-linked sales reduce stock.
  • Stock-linked sales help explain product movement and stock value.
