How sale categories work

Sale categories help you group income into useful types. They are optional, but they can make reports and weekly insights more useful.

How categories are used

• Tap a saved category if the sale belongs to that type.
• Type a new category if the category is not shown.
• Choose No category when the category does not matter.
• Use Manage categories if you need to organise your saved category list.

Good category examples

• Groceries for grocery sales.
• Milk for milk sales.
• Cargo for transport or delivery income.
• Olive oil for a product line.
• Consultation for service income.

When to keep categories simple

• Too many categories can make reports harder to read.
• Use categories that help you make decisions.
• Avoid creating a new category for every tiny difference.
• For stock-linked sales, inventory item details may already explain what was sold.
