How to find sales entered under the wrong account

Find sales recorded as Cash, M-PESA or Bank incorrectly.

Wrong account selection is one of the most common causes of balance discrepancies.

Steps

  1. Open Sales.
  2. Filter by the day with the discrepancy.
  3. Review sales recorded under Cash, M-PESA and Bank.
  4. Look for amounts that match the discrepancy.
  5. Check notes, payment references, or customer information.
  6. Edit the sale if the account is wrong.
  7. Review the dashboard again.

Useful clue

  • If Cash is over by KSh 2,000 and M-PESA is short by KSh 2,000, look for a KSh 2,000 sale recorded under Cash instead of M-PESA.
