How to check if a transfer was entered backwards

Find transfers where the from account and to account were reversed.

A transfer entered backwards can make both accounts wrong in opposite directions.

Example

  • You moved KSh 4,000 from M-PESA to Bank.
  • It was entered as Bank to M-PESA.
  • Bank may look too low and M-PESA may look too high.

Steps

  1. Open Transfers.
  2. Find the transfer for the affected amount.
  3. Check the from account.
  4. Check the to account.
  5. Correct it if editing is available, or delete and recreate it carefully.
  6. Review both account balances.
