What Cash, M-PESA and Bank balances mean

Understand how Bizwazi separates money held in Cash, M-PESA and Bank accounts.

Bizwazi separates your business money into different accounts so you can see where money is held.

Cash

Cash means physical money held by the business, such as till money or petty cash.

M-PESA

M-PESA means business money held in your M-PESA account or till-related mobile money balance.

Bank

Bank means money held in your bank account or bank/card-related account.

Why the correct account matters

When recording sales, expenses and transfers, choose the correct account. This helps Bizwazi calculate daily balances more accurately.

Example

If a customer pays by M-PESA, record the sale under M-PESA, not Cash. If you withdraw money from M-PESA into Cash, record that as a transfer.
