How to enter end balances at the close of the trading day

Record real closing Cash, M-PESA, and Bank balances so Bizwazi can calculate discrepancies.

End balances are the real amounts you have at the end of the trading day. Bizwazi compares them with the expected end balances to check whether money is missing, extra, or recorded wrongly.

What to check

  • Count the real cash in the till or cash box.
  • Check the M-PESA balance or business M-PESA records.
  • Check the Bank/Card balance if that account was used.
  • Enter Cash end, M-PESA end, and Bank end.
  • Click Save end balances.
  • Review the discrepancy result after saving.

Useful tips

  • Enter end balances when trading has finished for the day.
  • Do not enter end balances before all sales, expenses, and transfers are recorded.
  • If the end balance is wrong, the discrepancy result will also be wrong.
