How to fix unlinked inventory
Use the Unlinked inventory warning to find stock items that do not have a supplier and connect them properly.
Unlinked inventory means some stock items are not connected to any supplier. This is not always wrong, but linking stock to suppliers makes reordering, reports, and stock control much easier.
What unlinked inventory means
- The item exists in Inventory.
- No preferred supplier has been selected for that item.
- The item may still be sold and tracked, but supplier reporting will be incomplete.
Why it matters
- You may forget where the stock comes from.
- Supplier stock value may be incomplete.
- Low-stock supplier cards may miss that item.
- Reordering may take longer.
- Inventory reports may not fully explain stock sources.
How to fix it
- Open Suppliers.
- Find the Unlinked inventory card.
- Tap Review unlinked stock.
- Open or edit the inventory item.
- Choose the preferred supplier.
- Save the item.
Alternative method
- Open Inventory.
- Find the unlinked item.
- Tap Edit.
- Select the Preferred supplier.
- Save the item details.
When it is acceptable to leave stock unlinked
- You do not know the supplier yet.
- The item was old opening stock.
- The item was donated or inherited.
- The supplier is not important for your reporting.
