What recovery codes are and why you should save them
Learn why recovery codes are important after setting up 2FA.
Recovery codes are backup codes that help you sign in if you lose access to your authenticator app.
Steps
- When two-factor authentication is switched on, Bizwazi may ask for a 6-digit code during sign-in.
- If your phone is lost, damaged, replaced, or reset, you may not have access to your authenticator app.
- Recovery codes let you regain access without the authenticator app.
- Each code should usually be used only once.
- You should store recovery codes somewhere secure, away from your password.
Useful tips
- Do not keep recovery codes in the same place as your password.
- Do not send recovery codes in public chats.
- If you believe recovery codes were exposed, regenerate them from the security page.
