Using sales categories with Sell from inventory
Use categories and inventory together without confusion.
Sell from inventory and sales categories can work together.
When you use Sell from inventory, Bizwazi uses the inventory item to reduce stock. The sales category is used to group the sale in reports.
Example
You sell one bottle of Olive Oil 1L.
- Inventory item: Olive Oil 1L
- Sales category: Groceries
- Result: Olive Oil stock reduces by 1
- Report result: The sale appears under Groceries
Why this is useful
Many different products can belong to one sales category.
For example, these inventory items can all use the Groceries category:
- Olive Oil
- Rice
- Sugar
- Flour
- Salt
This lets you track exact stock items while still keeping reports simple.
