Close the day by checking records, balances and unresolved differences.

Closing the business day properly helps protect money and keep reports reliable.

Steps

  1. Stop entering new transactions for the day or agree a cut-off point.
  2. Confirm all sales are entered.
  3. Confirm all expenses are entered.
  4. Confirm transfers are entered.
  5. Confirm invoice and bill payments are entered.
  6. Count Cash.
  7. Check M-PESA.
  8. Check Bank if needed.
  9. Enter closing balances.
  10. Review discrepancies.
  11. Add notes for anything unresolved.
